Located on the Atlantic side of the Panama Canal, the Agua Clara Locks are part of the Panama Canal Expansion project, completed in 2016. This modern engineering marvel was designed to accommodate the larger New Panamax ships, significantly increasing the canal's capacity and efficiency. The Agua Clara Visitor Center offers breathtaking views of the massive lock chambers and the surrounding Gatun Lake.

Perched on a cliff overlooking the mouth of the Chagres River and the Caribbean Sea, Fort San Lorenzo is a historic fortress dating back to the late 16th century. Originally built by the Spanish to protect against pirate attacks, the fort has withstood numerous sieges and invasions over the centuries. Today, Fort San Lorenzo is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, offering visitors a glimpse into Panama's colonial past. The well-preserved ruins include impressive walls, cannons, and structures that evoke the fort's strategic importance. Surrounded by lush rainforest, the site also offers opportunities for wildlife spotting and breathtaking panoramic views, making it a fascinating blend of history and natural beauty.
